May: Ehlers Danlos Awareness Month
Ehlers Danlos: what is it?
The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of genetic, hereditary connective tissue disorders.
The Ehlers Danlos syndromes are as 13 sub-types of EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) – which has similar symptoms to hypermobile subtype EDS (hEDS).
Common symptoms of Ehlers-Danlos syndromes include unusually flexible joints and skin that stretches and breaks and bruises easily.
Connective tissue is present in every part of our entire body, therefore, there are many other symptoms/issues associated with EDS/HSD.
Can it be cured?
There is no cure for the Ehlers Danlos Syndromes, but exercises provided by professionals can help you support the joints.

TANYA is a Hypermobility Rehabilitation Pilates Specialist.

It turned her life around, taking her from a very poorly place, in constant agonising pain, to now being able to live life to the full… all thanks to Pilates. Amazed by her own progress, it is no wonder that Tanya is committed to helping others by sharing the wonders of Pilates.
